Queers & Comics Conference ­— April 14-15, 2017
presented by California College of the Arts, San Francisco, CA

145 US and international LGBTQ cartoonists, scholars, and publishers participated on 43 panels and workshops.

Keynote speakers: Gengoroh Tagame and Mariko Tamaki

Queer Creatures, a limited-edition tote bag, was created with art donated by 40 LGBTQ cartoonists and sold via Northwest Press.

Over 400 attended the conference. Over 300 attended the additional events.

Queers & Comics Conference ­— May 7-8, 2015

presented by CLAGS, Center for LGBTQ Studies, CUNY Graduate Center, NYC

113 US and international LGBTQ cartoonists, scholars, and publishers participated on 38 panels and workshops.

Keynote speakers: Alison Bechdel and Howard Cruse

Plenary: Gay Comix(cs) Reunion with all the editors, the founding publisher, and many contributors.

Queer Pin-Ups, a limited-edition deck of illustrated playing cards, with art by 54 LGBTQ cartoonists, were sold via Northwest Press.

Over 400 attended the conference. Over 300 attended the additional events.

Three days of additional events at other venues:
Drink & Draw Launch Party, with special guest Gengoroh Tagame
Queer Comix Live!, a reading and slide show by 30 cartoonists at the School of Visual Arts.
A group of 55 LGBTQ cartoonists attended Fun Home, the Broadway musical based on Alison Bechdel’s memoir, with a private Q&A with Alison and the entire cast.
